2002 - Observation from Wai Chan to Chai Wan |
| ¡@ |
Living in Hong
Kong is quite boring without hanging around. In 19th century,
Walter Benjamin, as a flaneur, outlined his own observation of a
well-known developed commercial city, Paris, in France. In 2002,
Dr. Lee (Leo Oufan) was inspired by Benjamin to publish his
book, The Flaneur in the City. Both of them put much effort on
reflections of their own culture. Actually, wherever we live our
culture influences us so much. This short and supposedly
interesting article starts from learning centre in Wai Chan to
my home. Keeping observation on my way home...... |

Observation in Chai Wan |

I have been
living in Chai Wan for over 10 years. In these 10 years, Chai
Wan underwent lots of changes. It is quite interesting to walk
around there today. |

Fujian dialect and my mum |

Although Fujianese is a sublanguage in Hong Kong society,
it is very important to my family. |
