2001

  • July: Claudia Schemberg & Nina Nixdorf have a go at debating at the 1st German Debating Championships in Berlin and decide to establish their own club.
  • October:Speakers’ Corner Cologne founded on Oct 1st, 2001.
  • December: Speakers’ Corner Cologne Christmas Debate: Natalia Wendkowska wins the House Cup.

2002

  • Speakers’ Corner Cologne (Christiane Haenraets, Claudia Schemberg, Petra Ostermann, Arno Meyer-Steinhaus; Juror: Nina Nixdorf; ) takes part in the 2nd Münster Invitational tournament;
  • Arno and Petra break through to the semi-final; .
  • Speakers’ Corner Cologne sends two teams to and one juror the 2nd German Debating Championships in Dresden (Claudia Schemberg, Petra Ostermann, Kai Kaufmann, Arno Meyer-Steinhaus; Juror: Nina Nixdorf).
  • Claudia and Petra make it to quarter-final.
  • December: The Annual Speakers’ Corner Cologne Christmas Debate; Petra Ostermann wins the House Cup.

2003

  • Speakers’ Corner Cologne (Claudia Schemberg, Petra Ostermann) participates in Münster’s 3rd Invitational tournament; Jurors: Nina Nixdorf & Hans Schwanitz.
  • SCC sends two teams and two jurors (Robert Schmitz, Stefanie Pionke, Arno Meyer-Steinhaus, Petra Ostermann, Britta Redmann, Peter Neuhaus; Jurors: Kai Kaufmann & Nina Nixdorf) to the 3rd German Debating Championships in Tübingen;
  • December: The Annual Speakers’ Corner Cologne Christmas Debate: Stefanie Pionke wins the House Cup.

2004

  • Britta, Nikita and Thomas go to Thüringen to participate in the Wartburg tournament “Der Kleine Cicero”.
  • Britta Redmann & Arno Meyer-Steinhaus contest for Speakers’ Corner Cologne at the 4th German Debating Championships in Bonn. Juror: Nina Nixdorf.
  • Claudia Schemberg leaves ;-( Speakers’ Corner Cologne and joins the Cambridge Debating Union.
  • Nina Nixdorf becomes the new president and Britta Redmann takes on the position of the vice-president.
  • December: The Annual Speakers’ Corner Cologne Christmas Debate: Robert Schmitz wins the House Cup.

2005

  • 18-20 March: The First Tilbury House Intervarsity at Cologne.. Our team for this job: Petra & Britta
  • 31 March - 03 April Berlin Open: Petra & Britta participated at the Berlin Open and broke through to the semi-finals.
  • September 2005: Britta Redmann becomes the new president and Nina Nixdorf supports her as vice-president.
  • December: The Annual Speakers’ Corner Cologne Christmas Debate:
    • Jan Müller wins the House Cup wins the House Cup with his speech on the advantages of the Bademante
    • Last-Man-Standing at the Glühwein-Kettle: Hans Schwanitz.

2006

  • 27-29 Jan: IUB Open in Bremen: Barbara & Arno and Petra & Britta participate as teams, and Hans Schwanitz as adjudicator.
  • 3-5 March: 2nd Tilbury House intervarsity:
