Lilo and Stitch

"Ohana" means family. "Family" means no one gets left behind.

So extremely cute. And funny too! Cobra Bubbles... hahaha... Al and I popped over to Metropolis yesterday, and we sat, munching away at a medium-sized popcorn (not enough!!) with lotsa melted synthetic butter, in an audience full of lil' kids and crying babies. Of course, the movie was my choosing -- how can I go to WDW without watching the latest Disney flick?? But note, Al wasn't exactly protesting either. ;) The biggest complaint was probably not getting bubble tea with the popcorn; they ran outta "bubbles", and what's bubble tea without bubbles??? Well, the film rocked anyway, although it was still subjected to my habit of over-analyzing. =P But no matter what, it just doesn't conquer my all-time Disney favourite Pocahontas. =D

Playdium playtime

I'm getting better at that damn dance machine (I got an "A" once!! yippeeee!)... and some day I'll kick Al's ass, I swear! Heehee...

In the news

Isn't it kinda ironic how events in the United States can tear us apart, yet the Americans probably have no idea what's going on up here in Canada? My heart totally goes out to the families of those who died in the senseless gunfire at the LA airport on Thursday, and also to the survivors who were injured. The madman was loaded with ammunition, explosives, and a knife... what's this world coming to? It sort of unnerves me that I was at that airport 10 months ago... but maybe not in the same way it must be for Al to think he was in the World Trade Towers only a year before 9/11/01 -- to think you were in a building that huge and reknown, and suddenly know that it just doesn't exist anymore.

It's also heartwrenching to know that incident wasn't the only world-changing event of the week. There was a whirl-wind of plane crashes throughout the week, including the dramatic midair crash of the passenger planes over Germany. The sky is so huge, how do two planes manage to find themselves in the same place at the wrong time? =(

The irony continues with the manner in which these tragic stories are placed directly beside a report of Jennifer Aniston settling her case against the papers that published topless photos of her. Go figure... I mean, doesn't it make our little worries and stresses seem even punier beside the world terrors?

And what really sucks this week is how the major Vancouver newspapers are on strike! I don't get my daily Sun, so I ain't got nothing to read or clip out for future reference. Of course, it's all on the Web, but dang, everyone knows it's easier to read things off paper than it is to stare at a comp. screen for hours. =P And I don't get my daily diversion dose of my favourite comics...

It's all in the hands...

On a lighter and less significant note, I just keep getting reminded of my whacky habits. I mean, when I clasp my hands together (y' know, interlocking fingers, prayer style), my right thumb always ends up on top. But when I look at the majority of other people (esp. at Church... ;D), they've got their left thumb on top. Now, all of the right-handed people I know have their left thumb on top, so maybe the left-handers are the odd people I see who are right-thumbed. Who knows? But I do know it makes hand-holding kinda awkward if your "significant other" is opposite-thumbed. It never hit me until now... but whenever Al used to grab my hand, I'd always rearrange it to what I though was a more comfortable position, not knowing that it wasn't comfortable to him. But now he says he's used to it and "his" way feels less comfortable (heehee... I converted him ;D). But really, it never mattered before. I mean... my first bfriend was left-handed, so maybe it just didn't make a difference... ;)

Oh, on top of that, I also turn doorknobs weirdly. "Normal" right-handed people tend to turn the knob to the clockwise while I always turn counter-clockwise. Does that make me quirky?? Or maybe I'm just a left-hander trapped in a right-hander's body!

The things I think about... I've got too much time on my hands, eh? (No pun intended...)
