Everyone has something that makes life a little more bearable, right? Favorites, cravings, appreciations, etc. So here are some of mine...
Books
Chicken Soup for the Soul. The stories from these books totally move me. If anything, they make me reflect on life
and gain a greater appreciation for the little things, as well as help reveal the lighter side of tough situations.
Characters
Winnie The Pooh and friends. My very first teddy bear was a musical Pooh bear. I also
had a Pooh bib as a baby. And now, 20 years later, I still sleep with a stuffed Pooh (Yes, I admit it! =P =D)
Elmo. Why? He was always the cutest Sesame Street monster, silly!
Chemical
Acetone. In organic chem, we used this stuff to
clean all the glassware (eg. test tubes, beakers, flasks) and I became so addicted to the smell. (Ether ain't bad either,
but don't go there!) However, trust me, I don't spend my days huffing nail polish remover...
Colour (spell it the Canadian way)
Disney
Drinks
Edibles
Jelly Belly gourmet jelly beans. (They're the same people who made the Harry Potter Bernie Botts Every Flavour Beans.)
Low in calories, extra tasty. Yummy!
Cookies 'N Cream and cookie-dough ice cream. And any McDonald McFlurry! And anything with caramel! Seriously,
nothing is ever "too sweet" for me; the sweeter the better!
KFC. Fatty, cholesterol-rich, artery-clogging fried chicken. MMmmmmm...
Film
Phenomenon. Just love this movie soooooo much.
Save The Last Dance, City of Angels, The Majestic, Forrest Gump, Clueless, Vanilla Sky (yucky ending, but the rest was so... intense, I loved it), You've Got Mail (sweet and predictable, but cute!)
Actors/Actresses: Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Mel Gibson, John Travolta
Misc. People
Music
Sergei Rachmaninoff. If you ask me my favourite classical composer, he's it. But he isn't exactly from the Classical
era... Especially after watching Shine, I've been hooked on his Piano Concerto No. 3.
Enrique Iglesias, "Hero". When listening through earphones, his opening whisper of "Let me be your hero..."
sends shivers down my spine every time, I swear! It's as if he's whispering right into my ear... Hehheh, ok, I'm over it.
Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, BSB, Enya, Alanis Morissete, No Doubt (all-time favorite Don't Speak), Darren Hayes (Insatiable)
Solitudes CDs. A little new age instrumental. I absolutely love this stuff. (Does that make
me a geek?) It's my study/essay-inspiration music.
Television
The WB and its dramas of teenage/post-teenage angst. (I'm a sucker for mushy programming that
deviates from reality, I admit it!) Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, 7th Heaven, etc. --
but I'm not obsessed, I swear.
Friends. The ultimate comfort show. Never fails to amuse -- even the reruns.
A comedic diversion from the trials of everyday life.
Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Used to watch the British version
before the American one came around. These guys are SO extremely talented and witty.
Touched By An Angel, Caroline in the City (only reruns *sniff*), Simpsons, The Other Half, The View, Sunset Beach (also cancelled... *sniff*), 20/20.
Toothpaste
- Crest. Nothing else touches my teeth. =P
