i guess that is pretty much good information of the cartoon we used to enjoy during Sunday mornings. Now, we shall move on to my own little collection. I was on a date with Dennis when he told me not to laugh with whatever he was going to show me. He placed a few smurf figurines on the table and said it just looked like a little family. A big smile came onto my face and I was not laughing at him, but reminiscing on the childhood. The blue little creatures that captivated my young heart then looked ever so enchanting sitting on the table.
Since then, I scrambled through Clarke Quay Flea Market looking out for good and rare finds and reading up fanatically about them from the internet. Smurf figurines are first produced in 1965 and even till today. Figurines in mint condition is a hard find in Singapore especially since most of us do not know how to care for them when we are young. Paint rubs, ink marks and missing pieces are very common. Variations from a same mould is sought after by most collectors. Do look at my descriptions on indivual pieces. |

Needless to say, you can see the slight variation over here very clearly. "Light & Dark Green Apple", "Halloween With & Without Face". Look carefully at the light green apple, apparantly, the painter forgot to paint the eyebrows here. An interesting find. |

Another favourite among collectors. Spot the color difference in the eye and the teeth. "Angry Smurf" is adopted from one of the espoides where the smurf turned purple. |

"First Aid Smurf". See the different color of first aid kits and the one in front is actually a "promotional" item for a band aid company. |

The first series of smurfs out in 1965. One of my favourites, the "Astrosmurf". Ain't he cute with a space helmet? The "Gold Smurf" is also a favourite among collectors. "Prisoner" sure have the sad look on his face. |

New generation smurfs, produced in the 2000s. This definitely belongs to the great"Outdoor Series". Bright colors is being adopted here. |
