August 7, 1984: It was mid afternoon, the sky was clear, the temperature was 24C, 81% relative humitidy, ah yes... a beautiful day. Young Kurtis was at a picnic when he strayed momentarily from the loving arms of his family to investigate a nearby construction site. The workers were using chainsaws to clear out some bushes and Kurtis went to get a closer look. He was so excited that he began to jump for joy! But he must've been too close to the saws because while he was jumping, he accidentally landed on a running saw! Kurtis' repeated jumping movements and the Coriolis Effect caused him to land on the saw, dashing off both of his little legs. So poor Kurtis had to use one arm to drag his body back to the picnic while the other arm held his severed legs. Luckily, his parents decided to preserve his legs in formaldehyde so they could be re-attached. Finally, on November 3, 1996, Kurtis' wounds had healed enough for his long estranged legs to be reunited with the rest of his body. This is what Kurtis had to say about the situation: "Well, three year-old legs may look ridiculous, but they're better than having no legs at all." Well put, Kurtis.
