Korea

Finally in late November 2001, I managed to get a long weekend completely off of work and where else would I go but Korea! Only 2 hours away by plane and with an invitation that I could not refuse, destination Seoul, Korea. The sights were amazing, the food was hot and spicy and the shopping... well just ask my wallet because it is still suffering from the trip!

I really want to thank Chang Kyu, Jung Kyu, Mijin, Kate, Dong Jeup, Jang Ho and Stephan for showing me around, translating and making this holiday such a blast!!

Autumn is such a beautiful season. When I arrived in Seoul, the leaves on the trees and on the ground were shades of firey red, deep orange, bright yellow and fading brown.
Here are some pictures from Ewha Women's University... rumoured to have the most beautiful campaus ground in Korea... and I would have to agree!

Downtown Seoul!

Soon to be the home of the FIFA World Cup, City Hall just thought they would let us know!

Mijin outside of City Hall! Thanks for showing me around!
The Newspaper Museum was a great place to learn about the modern history of Korea. Here is the printing pressed that was used... a long time ago!
When Korea had a King and a Queen the royal family lived in the palace shown above and left. Below is the South Gate of Seoul. The proximity of four gates shows how small the capital once was.
I was a bad, bad girl! Well actually I was so surprised to see armed guards patrolling the US Embassy that I had to get a photo! Unfortunately, they would not let me play with their guns...
Star photo shoot!! All the rage with the kiddies of today, could not resist!
Chang Kyu! We just popped out for some Italian! Thanks so much for being such a fabulous host!
A night to out on the town!! With Kate (thanks for the shopping spree), Jang Ho and Dong Jeup (right), Chang Kyu and Stephan (below)!
Namsam Mountain!!
On top of Namsam Mt is Seoul Tower. Here was sat for a Ginseng Tea in the revolving restaurant! Very refreshing!
The view from Seoul Tower... not the clearest of days... believe it or not the sky was perfectly clear the following day!! Damn!!
