NOTES:
Seven exhibitors competed in 14 classes. Two were from the Pahsimeroi 4-H
model horse project. Trish Williams, a carded horse show judge, judged the
show. After judging each class, she explained how and why she placed the
class and offered tips to improve or enhance each entry. For the showmanship
at halter classes, exhibitors showed provided models. They had to position
their models as if they were in a real show, then were called out
individually to show their model on a small table and demonstrate the
"quarter system" of showing. For the other classes, most the exhibitors had
made their own realistic saddles and bridles as well as props. They also had
to provide a card with a description of what the horse was doing for each
class.
During the lunch break, exhibitors and their families enjoyed Subway Subs
and watched a video of the Abaco Barb Horses. Following the show, each
member selected a model to be placed in the library display case for their
club display.
