September 2006 Newsletter

WOW! Everyone did great at fair. Everyone received blues for their record books and the displays were awesome. The judge was really impressed with everyones scenes and costumes. We received rave reviews on our overall club display. Awesome, fantastic, outstanding, extremely impressive, those were just some of the comments we received. Great job everyone and a special thanks to the Dads that came to help decorate.

Aside from the model club, four of the girls entered the speech/demo contest and did very well. Congratulations to:

Senior Demonstration Champion: Hannah Bennett
Intermediate Demonstration Champion: Mary Bennett
Intermediate Reserve Champion: Kellsie Hodges
Overall Demonstration Champion: Hannah Bennett
Intermediate Speech Champion: Mary Bennett
Overall Speech Reserve Champion: Mary Bennett
Intermediate Impromptu Speech Reserve Champion: Mary Bennett
Junior Impromptu Speech Champion: Gabrielle McMurphy

Fantastic job girls!!!!

Things are flying along and Breyer Day will be here before you know it. Therefore our next meeting will be on Friday, September 8th from 1 to 3 p.m. at the library. Im trying for the second Friday of the month and we have the room reserved from 1-to 4 p.m. just in case we need the extra time. At this meeting we need to plan Breyer Day. Ive arranged to do the Voice of the Valley on October 2nd; if any of the girls want to join me that would be great. Well also be discussing next years activities and making some changes in the checklist. The October 13th meeting will be the official first meeting of our club new year. There are several things in the works that Diane and I need to get started on so we can present our ideas at the state leaders forum in November so the next meeting will also be a brainstorming one for ideas, but the big push will be for the Breyer Day. We also need to pick an evening to set up the front window display at Kings.

WHITEWATER FUN SHOW: On October 21st, Whitewater will host another fun show and this time they will have two Halloween Costume classes, one for riders and the other for leadline. This should be a really fun event so start thinking of a costume for yourself and your horse.

INK CARTRIDGES: Thanks to Aspen, who did the artwork for our collection bins. We will have a bin at Salmon Internet and the 4-H Office. If you know anyone who might let us put out a bin, please let me know.

This is just a quick note since Diane and I are off to Blackfoot to set up our club displays at the State Fair and I wanted everyone to have a heads up on the next meeting date.
