September 2005 Newsletter

Fair went really well. Our display looked great and everyone earned blue ribbons on their record books. Congratulations! While we were working the pop booth, the girls braided up more Abaco Barb bookmarks. To date weve sold $26 dollars worth of them. I will be taking them to the State Leaders forum in Post Falls and the Western Regional Forum in Salt Lake. Hannah and Mary participated in the demonstration contest and did awesome. I was very proud of both of them. Diane Fisher and I went to the Blackfoot fair and set up model club displays. Kelsey sent her display of the wild horse and cougar.

This is short notice, but the 4-H Achievement Night will be Saturday, September 17th at 6:30 p.m. at the Salmon City Center. Our club is in charge of getting items for the dollar auction. Hopefully everyone will be able to attend, as there will be a special presentation for our club members.

Our big Breyer Fun Day event is coming up on Saturday, October 8th. Members need to bring a model for our club display and we will be hosting a model horse Halloween Costume Contest. There will be divisions for 12 and under, 13-18 and adult. Diane will be coming down to help. We will also be painting stablemate models. The event starts at 10 but members should try to arrive by 9:00 to help set up. We will need to set-up our club display, put newspapers over the tables to protect them from paint and get things organized. Members are encouraged to participate in the Halloween Costume contest, too. We will be discussing this more at our next meeting on September 21st at the Commissioners Office from 2 to 4 p.m. I will be doing a Voice of the Valley on Monday, October 3rd at 9:30 and a week before the event I will be setting up a display in the front window at Kings. If anyone wants to help, with either, they are encouraged to do so.

We will be starting our new club year with the October meeting. If you know anyone interested in joining, they should attend then. We will be recruiting new members at Breyer Day.

If you have any questions about the above events, please call me ASAP.
