November 2005 Newsletter

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Things are rolling along with the club. Our traditional club bake sale will be on Saturday, December 10th at Kings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a great fund-raiser and a lot of fun. Our members are such great cooks! Weve had lots of success with brownies and cookies. We will also be selecting a gift for the Christmas is Sharing program and making thank-you goodie trays for Kings, KSRA, the Recorder Herald and other club supporters so we can use lots of baked goods. Also, if you would like any model horse tack for holiday gifts for friends or relatives, Mary has made some awesome saddles and bridles and has started selling them.

Our December meeting will be on the 14th - Wednesday - from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Commissioners Annex. We will have a small Christmas party and do some activities. If you would like to send some drinks or munchies, it will be appreciated.

For our tack day, members made western saddles, thank-you boot cards for our club supporters and pine baskets for the Discovery Care Center. We also discussed and drew up the class list for our clubs model horse show in the spring. I will be scheduling another tack day for those that missed this one so everyone has a saddle and bridle for the show. After the meeting, we took the baskets to the Care Center and placed them on the tables. The girls did a really nice job on the baskets.

I just received the information for the recycling program for the ink cartridges and cell phones. Please ask your friends and others to save them for us. The funds raised through this program go directly to the Abaco Barb Horses. Just have your daughter bring them to the club meeting and Ill collect and process them. Also, dont forget to ask all your friends to save their tops for us. The tops go to the Ronald McDonald House in Boise.

We also have delicious 4-H chocolate candy bars for sale. They are $1 each. They have been a big hit and easy way for the club to raise funds. They can also be purchased at A to Z. Celeste and Jim have been big supporters of our club and have allowed us to put a box of candy at the store.

I think thats all for right now. If you have any questions about the above events, please call me ASAP.
