February 2008 Newsletter

NEXT MEETING: Our next meeting is Friday, February 8th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the library. We will be judging the open photo show and discussing our club show. This will probably take much of the club meeting so we need to start as close to 1 p.m. as possible.

HORSELESS TRAIL CLINIC: The Horseless Trail Clinic we had in January went well. There were about 15 adult participants. Katy, Sarah and Aspen did an awesome job of selling raffle tickets, collecting fees and helping with the clinic. The girls raised $70.

CLUB REQUIRED MODEL SHOW: Since the Tri-state Equine Festival has been moved to May, we are tentatively going to hold the club show on Saturday, April 26th; and if that conflicts, we will do it Friday, April 25th. This is the weekend after the horse sale and before the May rodeo and dance events. This is an all day event and all members must participate to finish their project. I need to know ASAP if there is a conflict. Only members who have paid their membership fee, filled out the registration papers and have attended at least 4 meetings will be eligible for the show. So if your daughter has missed past meetings, they need to be at the next few meetings or call me if they cant come.

DEMONSTRATIONS: Members need to get their demonstrations done. They need to be done before the model show or at the show. The reason we have our demonstrations done before hand is to avoid the summer madhouse with other projects and activities.

OTHER EVENTS: Idaho Horse of the Year applications are now available for 2008 and can be found on the club website or the Idaho 4-H website.

Thats all I can think of for now. If you have any questions, please call me.

Also, dont forget all members need to read a book, magazine article or watch a movie for their check-off list and we need to get started on demonstrations. They will be due by the April model show.
