Club Activities for 2008
January 11th - Club meeting from 10 am to 4 pm. A day of fun which included repainting models, making tack, finishing with a standard photo shoot. Members of the Mountain View Model Club were our guests of the day.
January 24th - Club hosted Horseless Trail Clinic from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Salmon library. 15 adults participated. Katy, Sarah and Aspen did an awesome job of selling raffle tickets, collecting fees and helping with the clinic. The girls raised $70. Here, Katie and Susan demonstrate what a horse feels when you pull on the reins during the club fundraiser.
February 8th - SMH4HC's "Next Generation" Photo Show ~ a special Fundraiser and learning show designed to introduce new club members (like young Sarah) to the world of photoshowing. Here, Kellsie and Kelsey demonstrate the fine art of recording results from a class they just judged.
February 15th through 17th - Horse Affairs in Boise. Made some neat contacts, watched some great trainers, even got to ride a Mule sidesaddle!
March 6th through 9th - Western Regional 4-H Leader's Forum in Boise (adults & teens were encouraged to attend). 23 showed up for Share Fair alone. Presented Stone horse model to the lucky recipient for the the Idaho Horse of the Year (IHOTY) award.
March 14th - Club meeting @ library 1 to 4 p.m. Lots of terrific impromptu demonstrations this time around, great job everyone!
April 11th - Club meeting @ library 1 to 4 p.m.
April 17th - 4-H Expo and sign-up night.
April 18th through 20th - Salmon Select Horse Sale.
April 20th - Idaho Horse of the Year applications became due.
April 26th - Model Club Horse Show was held at the Library.
April 26th - Leaders training in Salmon.
May 16th - 18th - Tri-State Equine Festival was held in Salmon. Club leader and her versatile mule Ginger won the Senior division of the Festival Mtn Trail Challenge, under both saddle and in-hand.
June 2nd - 6th - Project Camp.
June 14th - Five Valley Model horse show in Missoula.
July 18th - Club meeting at Library with new Record Books handed out. Firmed plans for Fair.
August 8th - Club meeting at Library from 1-4 pm, with Record Books due, no exceptions.
August 16th - 23rd - Lemhi County Fair.
October 24th - 26th - State Leaders Forum in Salmon.
