Fair Issue!!!
DO NOT MISS!!!!!!! Our next meeting will be on August 10th - at the library basement from 9 a.m. till noon. This will be our last meeting till fair and we need to complete checklist requirements and record books by then. We will also have a gust speaker to show us how to do some packing. So it will be a busy day. Members need to bring the packing tack we made at the last meeting and their model with a halter if they have one. They also need to bring their record books so we can finish them off. Each member needs to write a story about their 4-H experience. Please help your daughter at least get started on this. By now, everyone who needs to turn in a book should have a fresh clean copy to transfer stuff into. Much of this should be done at home. PARENTS: YOU MUST SIGN THE FRONT OF THE RECORD BOOK FOR IT TO BE ACCEPTED AT FAIR!!!!!
For the August meeting please bring:
Pack tack & model with halter & western saddle
Record books � signed by a parent
International jumps � if they haven�t brought them already.
I am willing to stay longer if we need to complete books or checkoff list items. I would like to collect the books that day so our judge can start judging them. I will bring the books to the fair but each member needs to bring their own display. We will discuss the schedule for decorating our area and when the projects are due. I need to know what each member will be doing so I can arrange for tanks or see if there will be room in the showcase. Those who are not doing record books are encouraged to do a display but will receive a participation ribbon only. This is so they will still be considered first year members next year. I should have a complete fair schedule by the August meeting.
POP BOOTH: We are working the pop booth on Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. We need to have an adult and two members in the booth the entire time. I will be there for the entire time but I need to know who can be there at what times. We can do shifts or if a member wants to do the whole time that�s great. I just need to know ahead of time. Everyone working in the pop booth will earn a regular ice cream cone at the fair!
MEETING DAYS: School will be starting soon and I need to know what day would be good for meetings so I can arrange for a meeting room. I�m game to have the meetings on Friday�s since I believe the schools will be doing the 4-day week and Friday will be their day off. If we use this day, we would have more time to make tack and obstacles as well as do photo shoots and have guest speakers. I�m hoping to have someone come in and talk about driving and western style classes and activities. I need to know ASAP on this subject.
CLUB TEE SHIRTS: Some of the members already have club shirts. If your daughter would like one, I can have more made up. The cost is only $10. The shirts are teal green and have the club logo embroidered on the left front pocket area. T-Shirt SAMPLE Please let me know if you are interested in a shirt.
I will be at the Custer Fair in Mackay starting Sunday, July 30th through August 6th. If you need help with your books or have any questions, it will have to wait till I come back, but you can call and leave a message. I�ll return your call as soon as I get home. Don�t forget to bring in any ink cartridges, cell phones or pop-tops for our service projects. Hopefully we will soon have collection containers at various locations and a collection box for the fair.
