SMERI submits paper abstract for Int'l Seminar on Waqf

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator, Mansoor Limba, submits today the abstract of his proposed paper for the International Seminar on Waqf in Islam to Ahmed Namaee, the Chairman of Secretariat of the seminar and the Deputy Director on Research of the Islamic Research Foundation based in Mashhad, Islamic Republic of Iran.

SMERI's Senior Researcher's proposed paper is entitled, "Waqf in the Words and Works of Imam Khomeini: An Analytical Survey of the Sahifeh-ye Imam" which falls under the third category of the seminar's themes--"Waqf in Iran" and shall have the following headings:

- Introduction

- Sahifeh-ye Imam

- Sahifeh-ye Imam's Accounts of Waqf

- Sahifeh-ye Imam's Accounts of Waqf: An Analytical Survey

- Conclusion

The submission of paper abstract is in line with the call for papers sent to SMERI through email by the organizers of the Seminar, which will be held in August 2006 at Mashhad, Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Seminar's Secretariat will accept abstracts up to February 15, 2006.

SMERI to translate another book on prayer

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator, and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, signs a contract yesterday, December 27, 2005, with the Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) regarding the English translation of a Persian book on prayer.

The said 251-page Persian book is entitled Partu-ye Az Asrar-e Namaz [Radiance of the Secrets of Prayer] written by the roving Qur'an teacher in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hujjat al-Islam Shaykh Muhsin Qara'ati.

The said book is the second book on prayer by Hujjat al-Islam Qara'ati to be translated by our Senior Translator, the first being entitled "A Commentary on Prayer" [Tafsir-e Namaz] which he finished translating last July 3.

The contract is a one-month translation project.

SMERI's Senior Translator finishes translation of "History of Shi'ism from the Advent of Islam up to the End of Minor Occultation"

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator, and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, finishes yesterday his translation of the 280-page Persian book entitled Tarikh-e Tashayyu' az Aghaz ta Payan-e Ghaybat-e Sughra [History of Shi'ism from the Advent of Islam up to the End of the Minor Occultation] written by Ghulam-Hasan Muharrami.

The translation is the subject of a contract signed by the translator and the Cultural Affairs Department of Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) on July 26, 2005.

SMERI's Senior Translator finishes Filipino translation of Imam Khomeini's biography

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator, and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, finishes yesterday his translation of 376-page short biography of Imam Khomeini is entitled Hadith-e Bidari [The Narrative of Awakening] written by Hamid Ansari.

The translation is the subject of a contract signed by the translator and the Tehran-based Institute for the Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini's Works (ICPIKW) on August 23, 2005.

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator, and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, signs a contract yesterday, August 23, 2005, with the Tehran-based Institute for the Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini's Works (ICPIKW) regarding the Filipino translation of a Persian book on the life of Imam Khomeini.

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, finishes yesterday his English translation of a 135-page Persian book entitled, Tahlil-e Nu Bar 'Aqayid-e Wahhabiyyan ["A New Analysis of the Wahhabi Doctrines"] written by Hujjat al-Islam Shaykh Muhammad Husayn Ibrahimi.

The translation is the subject of a contract signed by the translator and the Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) on May 16, 2005.

According to the Translation Unit of ABWA, the English translation will be published this year or early next year, insha Allah.

The translation is the subject of a contract signed by the translator and the Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) on May 16, 2005.

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, finishes yesterday his English translation of a 248-page Persian book entitled, Shi'eh Pahsokh Midahad ["The Shi'ah Rebuts"] written by Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Rida Husayni Nasab under the supervision of Ayatullah Ja'far Subhani.

The translation is the subject of a contract signed by the translator and the Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) on May 16, 2005.

According to the Translation Unit of ABWA, the English translation will be published this year or early next year, insha Allah.

The translator is currently translating another Persian book into English entitled, Tafsir-e Namaz [A Commentary on Prayer].

SMERI's Senior Translator to translate 3 new books

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, signs a contract with the Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) regarding the translation of three (3) books on May 16, 2005.

The said Persian books that shall be translated into English are the following:

- Shi'eh Pasokh Midahad ["The Shi'ah Rebuts"] by Sayyid Rida Husayni Nasab (written under the supervision of Ayatullah Ja'far Subhani), 248 pages.

- Tahlil-e Nu Bar 'Aqayid-e Wahhabiyyan ["A New Analysis of the Wahhabi Doctrines"] by Muhammad Husayn Ibrahimi, 135 pages.

- Tafsir-e Namaz ["A Commentary on Prayer"] by the roving Qur'an teacher in Iran, Hujjat al-Islam Shaykh Muhsin Qara'ati, 160 pages.

The contract is a six-month translation project.

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, finishes his translation of Hujjat al-Islam Shaykh Najmuddin Tabasi's 224-page book entitled, Chashmandazi az Hukumat-e Mahdi ["An Outlook on the Mahdi's Government"].

The translation is the subject of a contract signed by the translator and the Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) on January 14, 2005.

SMERI's Senior Translator finishes his translation of Ayatullah Misbah Yazdi's book on freedom

SMERI's Senior Researcher and Translator and External Relations Officer, Mansoor Limba, finishes his translation of Ayatullah Muhammad Taqi Misbah Yazdi's 116-page book entitled, Azadi: Nagofteh-ha va Nokteh-ha ["Freedom: The Unstated Facts and Points"].

The translation is the subject of a contract signed by the translator and the Tehran-based Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly (ABWA) on December 30, 2004.

"The book will be published this year," says Mr. 'Abdul-Karim Kermani, Translation Unit Chief of the ABWA.
