Clark
can't believe what just happened to him. Meanwhile, Lex buys him a new truck for
saving his life and Jonathan won't hear of it. Jonathan and Clark get into an
argument and Jonathan says "Clark I know you're upset, son, but it's normal."
Clark responds, "Normal? How 'bout this? Is this normal?" After saying that he
jams his arm in the grinder. Jonathan runs to his side and Clark says, "I didn't
dive in after Lex's car, it hit me at 60 miles an hour. Does that sound normal
to you? I'd give anything to be normal." After having said that, Clark
walks away leaving a dumbfounded Jonathan behind.
It's a little blurry because of the motion, but in
episode 1.1 Pilot is when Clark first discovered that he cannot be
penetrated. Clark is lost in his thoughts
standing on a bridge when the one and only Lex Luthor is coming toward Clark at
60 miles per hour and crashes head on into Clark. They both go off the
side of the bridge. Lex is unconscious, Clark rips open the roof, and pulls him
out of the car to safety. After this moment Lex and Clark become like
brothers.
Top Left: Kryptonite-infested
water took ages off an old
man named Harry--literally--he became a young adult again. Just another
freak of the week. He stabs Clark with a knife and it shatters against
Clark's body.
Top Right: Clark is saving this dog from an explosion (he
eventually becomes Clark's dog and is named Shelby after his mother's childhood
dog).
Bottom Left: A bus driver has a heart attack and careens out of control
towards a homeless man and his dog. Clark saves the day again.
Bottom Right: Morgan Edge (a contract
killer) wants to kill Lex by driving his car over him. Clark interferes and stops
the car.
When
the show Smallville first started Clark already had some powers--super-speed and
super-strength. As he got older these two powers became stronger. The other
powers came later.
Now, he is impenetrable to ALMOST anything. The only
thing that can penetrate him is Kryptonite--radioactive shards of Krypton (the
planet he is from).
Clark first discovered that he was impenetrable in the
first episode.
