What you will need

Before you fiberglass, you will need these materials:

        Fiberglass matting

        Fiberglass resin and hardener

        Cotton/Polyester blend cloth

I bought a fiberglass kit, available at most department and do-it yourself stores. The kit came with the hardener, resin, matting, a mixing stick, a smoothing tool, and a pan to mix it all in. This kit is good for small projects, and will save you money if doing a small project. But, if you are doing a larger project, you will have to buy everything separate.

If you do not buy the kit, make sure the cup/pan that you use for the project is very, very sturdy. DO NOT USE PARTY CUPS, or any other cup/pan that is thin or wax covered. The resin/hardener mix will melt/eat through!

During fiberglassing, you may need several things:

Rags to clean up any messes you make (you WILL through these rags away)

Paint thinner or other high strength cleaner to clean up messes

Heat lamp if your not in a room above 60*

Once you have fiberglassed, you will need several things:

Sand paper (from rough to fine grits)

        A Bondo-type filler

        Primer and Paint (if painting)

Vinyl and Spray Glue (if vinyling)
