How To Join:Read ALL of the RULES FIRST! Check to see if there is an available Slayers Cast Member you'd like to play. We REALLY, REALLY want people to play some of the Slayers cast members, so please do consider it. If not, then go to the Create a New Character page to create an original character. New characters will be, as a rule, not as strong as the Slayers cast members. This is simply because the Slayers characters have been around for longer, have been tested in battle, and have had a chance to improve themselves. If you have read and understood all the rules, and have decided on a character you want to play (whether a Slayers cast member or your own original character), then you are ready to proceed. The council needs to know if you can write. We also need to know if you can write as the character you want to play. So you need to send us a writing sample. Make up any kind of scenario with your character in it, and write at least two paragraphs (ten sentences, a hundred words, something like that. If you want to write more, please do; we like getting longer submissions because it makes it easier to get a feel for your character). Be sure to keep a copy of it on your computer, in case it gets lost. Write your sample in the same style that you would write an actual part of the story. Use third person ('he/she' instead of 'you' or 'I'), use past tense ('she did that' instead of 'he does this'), and please try to use proper spelling and grammar (use a spell-checker if possible).
Okay, now that you've got your writing sample done.... Send your writing sample, AND the complete description of your character (if you're playing an original character), to the Council. Please give us at least a week to decide about your character. We need to look over your writing sample and come to a consensus. We all have outside lives too, so a week should hopefully be enough time for us to get back to you on your character. Or, errr, maybe a month. *sweatdrop* After that, we might accept you right away... or we might ask for you to send in another writing sample, or we might give you a test post to reply to. Don't be worried; we just want to get a better chance to know your writing and your character before deciding. We've been wanting to find someone to play (for example) Amelia for a long time now. Lots of people have applied for the position, but when we sent them test posts to reply to, they all mysteriously disappeared. Please don't be put off if we ask you for another writing sample, even after you've already sent in one. We just want a chance to get to know your writing better! Just write a new little story about the character, or reply to the situation we give you, and send it in to the same address as before. If your application is rejected, do not despair. We will probably tell you why you were rejected, so you can fix it, and try again. Hopefully you'll get in the next time ^_^ We actually do take in most of the people who apply... IF they are patient enough to keep trying.
