Tavis Werts - Reel Big Fish
Me: Your Tavis from Reel Big Fish
Tavis: yes i am
Mee: tavis
Tavis: yep. that's me
Me: guess wut
Tavis: ...
Me: my friend thought your name was travis so i got mad at him
Tavis: hah, don't worry about it, im very use to it.
Me: yesterday i went to my school social and brought turn
the radio off, and played alternative girl
Tavis: I'll tell you this much, you picked a good song!
Me: i was skanking and everyone was looking at me
Me: it was great
Me: what are you doing now that mojo is gone?
Tavis: I'm not suppose to discuss that really. But we're
possibly going to change record companies. Our new album wont be out till late
summer at least.
Me: ah
Me: sorry
Tavis: Don't think of it as making us weaker. It's making us
stronger.
me: now when they play rbf's songs in commercials, do u get
paid?
Tavis: No, but they have to ask the record company and the
band for permission.
Tavis: We get paid for soundtracks though.
Me: is it weird when u watch commercials (like the
heartbreakers trailer) and they play your songs?
Tavis: It's always weird to hear your song on TV. or even on
the radio. It's a great feeling to know you're heard around the world.
Me: do u think ska will be back in the mainstream like 96?
Tavis: There's no doubt that ska was the strongest in '96. I
think that's something that we'll just have to wait and see...
Me: how come, i talk to aaron, and he won't talk back
Tavis: Aaron's a man with many issues!
Me: ah i see
Tavis: I have to run now. Got some work to finish up on. Catch
ya later.
Me: k
Me: see ya, it's been a pleasure
Tavis: The pleasure was all mine.

Ans - Hey Dave.
Ans from the Skavvovie here. I just checked this account for the first time in
months. It's nice to know somebody still remembers us. We are pretty much done
for. We still owe money to people especially after Moon royally screwed us.
Shanachie was almost as evil as Moon.
Me- Any shows going on?
So we are in big debt and almost played a show this month in Maryland for 4000$.
Somebody on the campus funding team wisened up and canceled it! Moon is done.
Noah was being investigated by the District attorney for stealing alot of
Moon's money. Bucket posted something almost as bitter as this letter.
Anyway, nice to see somebody is not afraid of a great musical genre. Take care
dude
Me - You too!

Me:
wut
are anti - social's biggest influences?
Chris:
Well
for me my biggist influences to being in a band come from 5 bands: Operation
Ivy, Rancid, Reel Big Fish, Slapstick, and Less Than Jake. These bands
basically got me into the whole punk and ska genre and I have expanded my
listening to it ever since.
Me:
wut's
up for A.S. in the future?
Chris:
I
couldn't really tell you. It's like a relationship....it could end at any
time. But right now it seems to be pushing forward everytime we play.
And everytime we play we make new fans.
Me:
now
your on a couple compilations (for example: a piece of our scene) do u
guys want to go for a local lable, or are u guys trying for a national lable
Chris:
Well,
as of now, I guess we are just looking for a label period. We just want
something to back us up since we are just teenagers and money doesn't come to us
that easy. It would be nice to have a label make our cd. It would
save us a ton of money outta our pockets.
Me:
what
would be your dream show of bands that would open up for you (broken up or
together)
Chris:
how
many bands can play?
Me:
infinite
Me:
it's
your dream
Chris:
well
i could name a million but ill say this: Operation Ivy, Minor Threat,
Slapstick, Sgt Scagnetti, and Spring Heeled Jack would be my top choices because
these bands are broken up and you would never be able to see them again. I
can always go see Less Than Jake or NOFX. BUt then again, these bands
would never open up for us because they surpass us by a great amount
Me:
well,
since u talked about SHJ do u think CT scne is dead
Chris:
Absolutely
not. As long as there are still kids picking up a guitar and playing a
punk song or 2, it will never be dead. Right now it may just be in a
slump. But with bands like Grover Dill on the rise....im sure it will be
better. On the other hand, Ska bands are harder to be in. Not to
many labels and clubs want to take chances with ska. Its like the Webster.
They only have ska shows on weekdays. Why? because they are
afraid that they will waste a weekend with a bad show.
Me:
john
tooey was is here and he was making fun of u. wut do u have to say to him?
Chris:
John
Tooey is a hell of a guitar player....I can't really make fun of him back.
Me:
well
he made fun of aaron barrett
Me:
that
do anything for ya?
Chris:
Nope.
I can't tell people how to think.
Me:
sure
ya can, it's called propaganda
Chris:
Well
in that case......
Chris:
GO
TO http://antisocialct.hypermart.net/
AND GO CHECK US OUT
Me:
well
only 2 questions left
wut's better, sweedish fish or gumi bears?
Chris:
Sour
Patch Kids....if it doesnt have the sourness then I dont eat them.
Me:
o,
secret C. option, nice
last
one
wut's the best place to find ska and all ska related on the net?
KeepoffCT:
