Famous People Who've Been Here

Well, for those of you who care.... HELLO! And it's sad to say, goodbye. Yes that's right, goodbye. I'm sure all of you out there don't wanna know why, but o well, it's my site. I started this side way back in 1999. That's when the local ska scene was just starting to die. Since then almost all my favorite bands have either broken up or changed styles. I was stupid. I went to every local ska show cause i wanted to "save the scene" (i still go, but just for my own enjoyment.). I went form being the only kid in my grade who even knew wut ska was to being one of 30 cause i thought it was my mission to get people into it. Maybe i thought that i could signel handedly save the scene, maybe i thought people cared, but that's not the point. I realised what kind of retarded people are in the Connecticut scene. People who think they are gods gift to the scene. People who thouight the exact opossite as me. They believed it was an exclusive club. I couldn't and still couldn't get that concept. That's why there are no GOOD ska bands or GOOD punk bands in Connecticut. Then salt was poured in my wounds when the new reel big fish cd came out. You know, the one i was waiting 4 years for. This was the cd i beleived for so long would save ska. Would make a good showing on the billboard charts cause of the huge underground following. This was the band that got me into ska. My favorite band. I was all excited for this as soon as i found out the release date. I refused to lsiten to any mp3's of the new songs (something that i wish i had done). I had to get this cd as soon as it came out. So instead of waiting a day and buying it for 14 bux at a independent music shop, i went to tower records and spent 21 bux. Got in the car to hear this work of art. That cd had 3 ska songs on it. Four if your count a sublime cover. Yeah, that was a great day for me. The rest of their songs were rock songs at a undanceable tempo. That's when i realised how stupid I had been. Don't et me wrong, i beleive ska is coming back, some amazing ska cd's have come out. The new Mu330, Codename: Rocky, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Mighty Mighty Bosstones are amazing cd's. Either all ska, heavily ska influence, or just really catchy good songs. Also watch out for the new mustard plug cd. I've heard some songs off it and it sounds awesome. I have also started a ska band and we have been together for about 8 months now and have played 4 shows and have 3 more booked for the month of september. We are called Johnny 9 and The Racers, so if you hear about a show with us, come up to me and tell me you saw the site or soething, i'll prolly hook you up with a free cd. > The whole time this site was up i have only gotten one review. mindbogglingnervepinchingeyeburningstomachachingbowelvoidinggoodtimehavingsite >- Collin, Vocals/Guitar in Mustard Plug> Thanx for those who supported me.
