Roy, Utah W.E. Wood "Woody" age 77, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 1994 at the Dixie Medical Center, St.George from causes incident to age.
He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend. He was an inspiration to all he knew, and was quick to lend a helping hand.
Born June 26, 1916, in West Station,Mississippi, a son of James T. and Hattie Johnson Wood, and reared in Arkansas. Came to Willard, Utah in 1938. Married to Iris Woodyatt on May 12, 1939; she died August 28, 1966. He married VaNeita Jorgensen on February 19, 1968. He spent most of his life in Roy, Utah. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He joined the Utah Highway Patrol on January 17, 1941, where he spent 37 years until he retired as a lieutenant in in 1978.
Member of the Elks Lodge. He loved bowling and was an avid golfer. He spent his winter months in Washington, Utah, at the Redlands RV Park so he could continue his love for golf. He is survived by: His wife: three sons and three daughters, Robert E. Wood, West Jordan; Mrs. Dave(Anne)Nelson, Clearfield, Mrs. Jim(Jeanne)Combe,Reedley,Calif; James K. Wood(wife, Trudy),South Ogden; Mrs. Lynn(Nancy) Horspool,Willard; John E. Wood(wife Violy), South Ogden; stepson and stepdaughter, Larry Jorgensen,Ogden; Mrs. Glade(Linda)Sutherland,roy; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Estes Wood,Arthur Wood, and Pauline Downey; also, one grandson, Jeremy Jon Wood.
Funeral services wil be held Tuesday, January 25, at 11 a.m. at the Roy 6thWard Chapel, 3845 So, 2000 West, with Bishop Kyle Denaughel of the Roy 6th Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5866 So, 1900 West, Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Willard Cemetery.

SAM DOKOS / January 23, 2002 WILLARD-Sam Dokos, 73, passed away Friday, January 18, 2002, after a long illness. He was born February 15, 1928 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Spiros and Elva Christofferson Dokos. They later moved to Ogden when Sam was three years old. He attended Ogden City Schools and Weber State College. Sam was known throughout his younger years for his athletic ability. He married Rhea Woodyatt in 1948. They had three children and resided in Willard, Utah for the rest of his life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Sam loved the town of Willard and served a term as a councilman on the planning commission. He also served on the Board of Adjustors for several years. Sam enjoyed coaching little league and pony league baseball. He worked for the State of Utah Dept. of Highways as a road engineer for 38 years before retiring. During retirement he and Rhea enjoyed traveling. They resided in Lake Havasu City, AZ during the winter months until Sam’’s illness prevented them from returning. His favorite hobby was fishing. He loved sporting events. Sam was proud of his accomplishments and loved working in his yard. He was a wonderful family man. He was very patriotic and loved his country. Sam is survived by his wife, Rhea Woodyatt Dokos, Willard, two sons; Chris Robin (Susan) Dokos, Willard; Steven Sam (Christine) Dokos, Honeyville; a daughter; Susan Dokos Cole, Scandia, Pa; four grandchildren; James Robert Dokos, Scandia, PA; Samantha, Tamara, Amanda Dokos all of Honeyville, a brother; Jim Dokos, CA; two sisters, Mary Dokos Dixon, Bountiful, UT, and JoAnn Dokos Butler, Salt Lake City, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Willis. Funeral services will be Monday, January 21, 2002 at 12 Noon at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 11:00 to 11:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
