ANTI-DRUG ABUSE COURSE (101/ADA)
Attend and successfully complete the Anti-drug Abuse Course organised
by the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association.

CASUALTY SIMULATION (102/CAS)
1 Attend and successfully complete a course in Casually Simulation.
2 Be able to demonstrate realistically the effects of
a) shock and haemorrhage
b) obstructed breathing and other forms of partial asphyxia
c) various conditions of unconsciousness including head injury
d) pain
e) injuries to the trunk, including fractures
f) injuries to the limbs, involving loss of f unction
g) other forms of distress including certain poisons
h) the'right' end 'wrong' treatment received
Be able to make-up to prepare a casualty or himself/herself realistically
to demonstrate:
a) a wound with or without a foreign body
b) a closed fracture of a limb, sprain of joint and other swellings
c) an open fracture
d) a pallid face with blueness of lips and ears
c) a f lushed face
f) a face and head wound
g) burns nd scalds
4 Be able to build up a 'Casually Simulation and Make-up' kit.
5 Demonstrate ability to stage a mock accident and to act and react
as a casualty under treatment.
CITIZENNSHIP (103/CTZ)
1. Know the difference between the ruling and constitutional Head
of State and be able to give a basic description of the role of
the President in conjunction with Parliament.
2. Know what is meant by Parliament and have a basic knowledge
of its constitution; its functions; how the Cabinet is formed and
its purpose; how Laws are made.
3. Know how membership of the Parliament is formed.
4. Know the basic procedure for a General Election and the maximum
term .of office for the elected Party between General Elections.
Know the reasons for By-elections.
5. Know the purpose of the 'Electoral Roll'; the minimum age for
voting and have a basic knowledge of a voter's procedure both for
inclusion on the Electoral Roll' and at the time of voting.
6. Know the names of the current Prime Minister, three Ministers
and the leader or one member of the Opposition Party.
7. Know the name of their own Parliamentary Constituency; the name
of their Member of Parliament and the party to which the Member
belongs. Have a basic understanding of his/her duties to the constituency.
8. Have a broad knowledge of the function of the Government, in
particular social services (government and private) and be able
to answer questions in more detail on one of the following:
(a) education system
(b) health service
(c) housing
(d) employment
9. Describe in simple terms what is meant by the following:
(a) the Commonwealth
(b) the ASEAN
(c) the United Nations.
10. Have a basic knowledge of the Judiciary arm of the country.
11. Know the ways of attaining citizenship.
12. Have a basic understanding of the constitution, eg the rights
of the citizen.
CIVIL DEFENCE (104/CDF)
Attend and successfully complete the Basic Training Course for
Civil Defence Volunteers organised by the Singapore Joint Civil
Defence Force.

COMMUNITY CARE (105/CMC)
1. List 5 items of information which a newcomer to Singapore would
want to know.
2. Know the whereabouts of:
a) a nursery school/creche
b) play group or playground for young children
c) a youth organization and activities for 11 - 18 year olds
d) a community centre near their home
e) the Parliament House
f) a club for senior citizens
g) a public library
h) the General Post Office and a nearby Post Office
i) the nearest clinic and veterinary surgeon
j) the nearest Police Station/Police Post
k)the nearest Fire Station
l) the nearest General Hospital and be able to explain clearly
how to get there.
3. Give an outline of the local buses serving the candidate's
residential or school area, eg destination, frequency, route, etc.
4. Know how to contact the essential services, eg gas, electricity,
water, telephone, etc.
5. Write a letter for an elderly person who is no longer able
to write and unable to compose it without help.
6. Serve in a welfare home for at least 12 hours and show proof
thereof.
\CRIME PREVENTION (106/CRP)
1 Know the principles of crime prevention and the concept of self-help
to prevent crime.
2 Know the preventive measures against different categories of
crime.
3 Know the Neighbourhood Watch/Operation Identification Schemes
and their operations.
4 Know the role and functions of National Crime Prevention Council.
5 Know the Police organizational set-up and its functions.
6 Know the geographical boundaries of Police Land Divisions and
the various locations of the Police Stations.
7 Know how anci when to report crimes/suspicious situations.
8 Participate actively in the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme and persuade
their parents, to form and/or join the Neighbourhood Watch Groups.
9 Bring handouts, pamphlets, checklist on crime prevention to the
attention of parents,
10 Persuade parents on the implementation of preventive measures
to protect the homes and its properties.
11 Practise regularly measures of crime prevention at home, school
and on the streets.
12 Visit a crime prevention exhibition held at any public place
or visit the crime prevention (demonstration) room at the Crime
Prevention Department.
13 Keep a log book of articles, newspaper cuttings, photographs
or pictures on crime prevention. Marks will be awarded for its contents,
presentation and efforts put in.
14 Join or form a Neighbourhood Watch Group as a Junior member.
15 Help to form an additional 5 Neighbourhood Watch Groups in their
neighbourhood.
ENERGY CONSERVATION (107/ESC)
Attend and successfully complete both Stage I and II of the 'Energy
Conservation Experience' programme organised by the Public Utilities
Board, Singapore.

1. To show Proficiency in the CPR skill.
2. To pass the Heart Saver Course conducted by the NHQ.

2 The ability of the approaches to leadership.
3 Knowledge of the fundamental needs for leader.
4 Be able to show the basic skill of leadership.

any society.

NURSING CARE (111/NUR)
1 Cadet members must complete at lease 5 days hospital duty or
duty rendered under Home Nursing Foundation (HNF).
2 Cadet members must produce the hospital duty record book which
has been certified by the ward nursing officer or registered nurse
in-charge from Home Nursing Foundation (HNF)
