STATE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGE are concerned with the development of effective research systems which can promote the attainment of the national Priorities and thrusts in the next millennium that will be at par with international standards.
RESEARCH IS THE KEY to a better future, the breakthrough that removes the threat of stagnation and decay in society and it must be taken into consideration that every effort shall redound to the improvement of the socio-economic condition of the people specifically in the island province of Siquijor. A number of science and Technology researches where conducted, although there was no separate budgetary allocation for research.

INVENTORY OF MACROBIOTIC COMPONENTS OF THE TULAPOS FISH SANCTUARY, TULAPOS, ENRIQUE VILLANUEVA, SIQUIJOR
Management of sustainability will require data form inventories and surveys of existing macrobiotic components in order to formulate a good comprehensive management plan. The present Tulapos Fish Sanctuary considers the extent and distribution of macrobiotic components and suggest recommendations to strengthen the management in the sanctuary. FISH CATCH SURVEY
A survey of extent of the fisheries activities in the province of Siquijor in cooperation with the department of Agriculture. This will establish a baseline data of fish catch around the province.
ELASMOBRANCHES BIODIVERSITY AND CONSERVATION PROJECT (SUML PROJECT)
A collaborative effort between Silliman University Marine Laboratory (SUML) And RDPEE- Siquijor State College in the collection of elamoobranch fishery and biological data, tissue, sample and voucher specimens in Siquijor Province.
