College of Maritime Education

     THE SIQUIJOR STATE COLLEGE, College of Maritime education was fully organized in 1995 when the Larena National Vocational College was converted into the present Siquijor State College. The college started to offer the two-year Marine Engineering Technology course in 1980.

     
THE MAIN OBJECTIVE of the college of Maritime Education is to provide the students with quality basic education and training in preparation for a maritime career in Nautical and Marine Engineering fields responsive to the needs of the National and International Community.

IN THE ATTAINMENT of these objectives, it shall establish and upgrade its quality system to ensure that the students acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for employment after graduation and have the course accredited by the commission on higher Education.

SCIENCE AND TACTICS

   FORMERLY AFFILIATED with the 542nd Navel Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit of the Bohol School of Arts and Trade (BSAT) in Tagbilaran, Bohol, the Siquijor State College (NROTC) unit was formally activated on July 10, 1198 with the assigned numerical code designation as 563rd Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit.

MISSION

     To organize, train, administer and develop the corps of midshipmen/ midshipwoman and other naval reservists in order to produce a pool of qualified and reliable naval reservists.

OBJECTIVES

     To Prepare college students for possible service in the defense establishment in the event of emergency.

     To train officers for the reserve components of and possible direct commission in the armed Forces of the Philippines.

     To train officers and enlisted reservists potentials for the reserve components of the armed forces of the Philippines.
