All-American Choco Chip Cookies

PROCEDURES
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Line 2 cookie sheets with aluminum foil. Set aside.
- Using an electric mixer, cream the lard together with the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Add the egg and beat until well blended.
- Pour in the flour, salt, and baking soda. Continue beating until well incorporated.
- Using a wooden spoon or rubber scraper, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
- Form the cookie dough into balls of about an inch in diameter. If the cokie batter is too soft, chill or freeze briefly until it is easy to handle.
- Arrange them in prepared cookie sheets leaving about two inches space in between as allowance for spreading.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are brown.
