Jenn had moved out of her parents' house in November of '98. She moved back in on August 21st. On August 25 1999, Jennifer wrote some letters. They were to her family members saying that she loved them and that it wasn't their fault. On her father's letter, she asked him to take care of a box of bills in her closet.
The next day, she waited until her parents went to work and her brother went to school. She then got her daddy's gun, went to her room, put it to her right temple and pulled the trigger. Her parents came home from work that afternoon and saw her door closed. They assumed she was sleeping and let her be until dinner. Then her mom went in to see her and her dad followed.

We can only guess as to why she did this. Thinking back, Jenn always seemed a little depressed but this could be hindsight justification. She was well-loved by friends and family alike. She was going back to school for another year. The only possible problem in her life was that she just broke up with a boyfriend a few days before. This doesn't seem like a big enough catalyst to cause such a tragedy especially since she and this boyfriend were only together for a few weeks. So her devastated family and friends are left to pick up the pieces and wonder why.
