Springfield Artifacts

3. Inanimate Carbon Rod

What it is:

Perhaps the greatest inanimate carbon rod to ever come from Springfield. It was the first rod ever to be named "Worker of the Week" at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and it shortly found its way onto a NASA space mission, going on to save the lives of Springfield "everyman" astronaut Homer J. Simpson and actual astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Race Banyon.

Where to See It:

Special appearances by the carbon rod are subject to fees discussed by the rod's management. The rod is often seen on television, endorsing watches, motor oils, and breakfast cereals.

What It's Most Often Called:

"Springfield's Favourite Rod-Son."

4. The Stone Cutters' Sacred Parchment

What it was:

For 1500 years, this simple piece of parchment served as the heart and soul of several world-wide branches of the secret brotherhood known as the Stonecutters. Its last place of honour was in the Stonecutters' Springfield branch.

What happened to it:

Homer J. Simpson, a new initiate to the stone cutters, used it as a bib while eating ribs. he then blew his nose on it and used it to clean his ears.

Its Worth:

Nothing. People would probably pay you to keep it away from them.
