(A quote from an anonymous echidna.)
An echidna wakes up to the sound of broken glass and walks downstairs to the
door. Throwing the front door open, the echidna finds two members of the Dark
Legion, who knock the echidna unconscious. A female echidna orders the Dark
Legionaries to destroy the high-tech equipment. She mocks the possessions owned
by the anti-technology High Councilor. The wife of the High Councilor hides
as the members of the Dark Legion leave the house.
In Haven, Knuckles is furious that everything has been kept a secret. Sabre tries to calm Knuckles and is prepared to tell over 400 years of echidna history. Knuckles growls that he hates history; unbeknownst to Knuckles, his father loved history.
An aircraft begins to land, and Constable Remington asks if things did not go well between Locke and Lara-Le. In the background, Lara-Le and Wynmacher exchange glances as they hold hands. Locke comments that there were too many differences between himself and Lara-Le. Moving on, Remington asks Julie-Su if she is ready to leave. Julie-Su says she needs to thank the pilot who rescued them. She feels like she knows the echidna, and Locke explains that he is the father of Knuckles. Julie-Su asks if Knuckles is okay, but Remington escorts her from the aircraft and says he heard that Knuckles is fine. Locke flies off in the aircraft, knowing that Knuckles will be mad with him.
The Dark Legion presents the High Councilor to Dimitri, who says that the High Councilor's family never changed. It was the ancestors of the High Councilor that prevented the opportunity to restore the Floating Island to the land from which it came (see Sonic the Hedgehog #34-35-36).
A deputy drives a van to escort Lara-Le and Wynmacher. Remington sees a crowd of protestors and steps outside of the van. He asks for the protestors to allow traffic to pass. Suddenly a flaming bottle falls to the ground and starts a fire. The echidnas and dingoes begin fighting each other. Remington contacts the Brotherhood and asks for some help. Concerned for the safety of his mother, Knuckles has Archimedes teleport them to the battle. Meanwhile, Locke looks for Knuckles at the chamber of the Master Emerald. Locke is relieved to see that Knuckles is not there, since he does not know what to say to Knuckles.
Knuckles and Archimedes appear among the protestors and knock out the echidnas causing problems. General Stryker appears, upset at the situation. Knuckles suggests that the echidnas and dingoes cool off while they try to solve the problem. Stryker says the problem is that the echidnas have failed to keep their promises, and if the echidnas do not keep their word this time, they will wish they got rid of the dingoes.
The High Councilor is given gas to put him out while the doctors operate on him. Dimitri watches from above and recalls how the High Councilor's ancestor Menthor listened to Dimitri's and Edmund's proposal. Menthor exclaims that if the plan is a success, Dimitri will be a hero. This will upset Menthor's plans, so he tells Dimitri he will criticize the plan so nobody will accept it. As a result, the High Councilor at the time denied the petition of Dimitri and Edmund. Dimitri thinks that he will finally have his revenge.
Knuckles appears in front of the Chaotix. After briefly explaining his situation, Julie-Su walks toward the group and says she can explain what is going on. She explains that the High Council has done nothing to help build houses for the dingoes. Now an election approaches, and the winner could determine the outcome of the building project. Nobody is sure of what to do at this time. Julie-Su continues to explain that Pravda, the councilor against technology, is missing.
Members of the Dark Legion throw chairs at the windows of a building. An echidna protests, so the female Dark Legionnaire orders for him to be beaten.
After receiving a message from Kommissar, a member of the Dark Legion informs Dimitri that the revolution has begun. Dimitri is thrilled and says they can take back what they should have had years ago. He destroys a model city and then says they will give a voice of the people. Pravda, with wires attached to his cheek, appears as the pro-technology candidate and pledges his allegiance to Dimitri.
