(Introduction page)
After seeing Mello fall victim to lemon sundrop dandelion poisoning, Charmy
and the Chaotix investigated Happyland in hopes of finding out the one responsible
for tainting the food supply. However, the Chaotix are now falling
victim to the poisoning. Meanwhile, as Knuckles journeys home from
Albion, a group begins chasing him, hidden by a bright light.
Three bees look forward, and the king places a crown on Charmy's head.
Charmy throws the crown on the ground and runs away from his family.
Charmy's father yells for him to return as his mother asks what is wrong,
and his sister cries. Charmy says he never wanted to be a prince and
rushes out of the room. A servant steps in Charmy's path, and Charmy
accidentally knocks him down.
Voices echo as Charmy is haunted from ghosts of his past.
A doctor looks at Charmy and tells a nurse that he needs a transfusion.
Before leaving, he tells the nurse to let him know when the other members
of the Chaotix are awake. The doctor steps out into the waiting room
and tells Julie-Su and Remington that everyone should recover. Julie-Su
asks why only the Chaotix were affected by the food. Remington recalls
that others had traces of lemon sundrop dandelion in their bodies, each
having a different reaction and being unable to recall eating anything.
Remington and Julie-Su board a police car and begin driving to Happyland.
Ebony Hare tells Renfield that he is using more special sauce on the chili-dogs
than what is necessary. As a result, instead of creating addicts,
Renfield is killing his customers. Renfield presses a button under
his desk saying that the only complaint they had happened the day before
(from Knuckles the Echidna #13). A large rat
named Ripper appears, ready to attack Ebony Hare. Ebony Hare calls
on Blackjack, who takes out Ripper with one punch. Furious, Ebony Hare
picks up Renfield by the throat and says that he will sell Renfield the sauce
and Renfield will only use a little sauce on the food.
As Charmy runs, Safron calls out to him and says she wants to help.
Charmy flies away in hopes of being alone. Mello jumps on Charmy's
back and asks him what is going on. Charmy explains that it is his
acknowledgement ceremony, and nobody cares if he wants to go through with
it. Charmy makes Mello promise to keep a secret before Charmy tells
him that he's going to the Floating Island. Once on the Floating Island,
Charmy sees an armadillo and decides to start making new friends. Mighty
sees Charmy and introduces himself. Mighty awakens and says that he
feels week. The doctor is paged, and by the time he arrives in the
room, Mighty has lifted his bed above his head with the nurse perched on
top.
Ebony Hare throws Renfield in his chair, and Renfield's computer begins
to make a sound. He notices that one of the food vendors is having problems
since Julie-Su and Remington are there. Before Remington can ask a
question, Remington runs toward them and welcomes them to Happyland.
Remington says he's there because of complaints concerning food poisoning.
Renfield tries to laugh, saying that nobody is even suffering from indigestion.
Julie-Su says that Renfield is right, and Remington decides to investigate
the park. Ebony Hare tells Blackjack to get rid of Renfield once their
trial period is complete.
Locke and Sabre watch as Knuckles is surrounded by the Bear Pack, a group
of bears on motorcycles and flying machines. To their surprise, Knuckles
uses his powers to easily defeat the Bear Pack. Sabre says that Knuckles
needs guidance in order to use his powers effectively. Locke says
Archimedes can be the guide, but Sabre disagrees and says Locke should be
the one.
Vector wakes up, and he's ready to eat something. The nurse panics
and calls for the doctor. Vector looks over and notices that Charmy
is twitching in his bed. Some doctors rush into the room, and one
asks for a syringe.
General Stryker approaches a taxi and tells Harry that he is still a dingo
and must follow orders under penalty of death. Once Stryker leaves,
Julie-Su and Remington approach the cab. Remington offers to do a
favor for Harry if he does him a favor. Harry tells Remington that
he might know who to look for, but they are dangerous characters.
Ebony Hare gets a call that says there is a lady that wants to deal with
him. Interested, Ebony Hare has Blackjack drive them to the lady.
Remington watches from Harry's cab as Ebony Hare, Blackjack, and a fox enter
a building. Harry reminds Remington of their deal, who says that Harry's
parking tickets will be cleared in the morning. Inside a room, Julie-Su
sits blindfolded. Julie-Su yells that business should not be conducted
this way, which angers Ebony Hare. Julie-Su decides to leave and Ebony
Hare grabs her arm. As Julie-Su removes her blindfold, Remington realizes
that the receiver went dead. Remington regrets letting Julie-Su be
a part of the plan since she could be hurt. Harry assures him that
Julie-Su can take care of herself as Blackjack pushes Julie-Su off of the
building.
