The CCITT was a special type of non-guild. There was no clear cut leader, even though the creator was Tcol he did not lead as a dictator as was the case in most guilds. Instead all decisions were voted upon by all members. Discussion and the sharing of ideas was the main goal of the members when not warring on the servers. Different strategies would be developed and implemented from this federation's own forums, a prime example being Silverbolt's Peaceful Technique. Also ship designs would be proposed and edited, as well as stolen from other colonies and then discected by the federation members. Nothing was kept secret in terms of gameplay, if a bug or techique was discovered it was immediately transmitted to the other members so everyone could benifit from the knowledge.
The federation itself kept a low profile on all game forums and let its actions speak for itself. In the first Federation server the CCITT was a constant top 15 guild in the rankings. While we never did gain a project that would have boosted our abilities we did hold our own against many larger opponents, most notably the MSWA and all of its 3 branchs at the same time.
The second federation server found the CCITT in the unusual spot of being favored for greatness before the server even started. The members stood up to the challenge and remained a top 10 federation thoughout the majority of the server. This included when the Korean federations ruled the top spots and allied together to fight the English federations. The CCITT remained one of their main opponents and using mIRC instant chat the members were able to drop many korean colonies during this protracted war.
Were a third Federation server available the CCITT would have expanded to two groups of ten colonies each, double the past number. This would have made the group a very powerful guild with a very good chance of winning the server outright. But alas this was not to be as the webmasters shut down the English side of the game before the server could go online.
With the ending of the Federation server most of the CCITT members could find little time to continue playing on the Conquest and Open servers and as a result the guild slowly faded from existance, much like the Astronest game itself at the same time.

At one time or another all of these players were part of the CCITT. Many left for personal reasons or for lack of time. But from its inception to the end of Astronest the CCITT was a lively place and a training ground for those willing to learn.
