Wolves are a part of the canine family. they have an average jaw stength of 1400 (p/in). they have 42 teeth, 12 insizors, 4 canines, 16 premolars and, 10 carnassiles and molars. wolces do not chew their food, they tear chunks off and swallow managable chunks. the paw structure of a wolf consists of five toes on the front paws and four on the back. the fifth toe on the front is known as the dew claw and serves no purpose. a wolf walks at about 4 miles an hour and can run up to 35 miles per hour. a wolf will generally trot at about 8 to 10 miles per hour. wolves are not afraid of water and will not hesitate to swim across rivers or streams. a wolf's sence of smell is about 100 times more powerfull than humans. they can smell their pray from a few miles away. most injuries that wolves recive are either from large prey or human activities and teritory disputes, falls, bears, and swift rivers. durring the winter wolves will sleep curled up with their nose under their tails. this causes the warm air that they exhail to warm their paws.
