Some examples are  cooking, brewing, armory, sewing, and poetry. If any skill or craft was followed in earlier times, chances are someone in the SCA has or is learning about it.

The officer in charge of Arts and Sciences is the Minister of Arts and Sciences, MOAS. Some groups split the office into two, a Minister of Arts and a Minister of Sciences. This officer encourages learning and display, as well as classes. They also help people find mentors at the local level to learn specific skills and match up sponsors and entrants for Queen's Prize and Kingdom A&S competions
