I fell in love with Lonnie early in our relationship - it didn't take long to realize he was the man of my dreams. And, although our friends have been asking us almost the entire time we've dated, Lonnie and I have been seriously discussing marriage for only a few months now.

Both Lonnie and I agreed on a small, simple, informal wedding somewhere in Las Vegas. However, part of that formality that was being avoided was the proposal. After telling my older sister, Sandy, about our plans to marry, she said she wasn't going to let me marry him without a proposal. Soooooooooooooooo, I proposed to Lonnie.

On Christmas Eve I handed a small box and card to Lonnie. The ring [Sorry I don't have a photo of it to share with you, but it was cute - a plastic metallic silver band with a heart on it. Sandy and I hunted around the mall for the perfect ring. Kahea and I have matching rings, too.] was inside the dainty box, but he couldn't open it until after reading the card [similar to illustration]. The message inside the card read - "Know who loves you?" To that I added a little poem and my proposal -- That's not the real question, This isn't the real band; Lonnie, I love you, will you be my husband?

Lonnie's reply -- yes!
