10.26.2001Our wedding vacation was a blast! There are so many memories that we shared and would like to share, but in fear you'd become bored quickly, we'll let you view our photo journal at your leisure.
We did tape a few snapshots from the Hoover Dam, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon here for you to see.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Our honeymoon will be spent in Las Vegas ... because we are not having a formal wedding, we've also decided on an informal honeymoon and are opting for a family celebration vacation instead. Although Kahea is determined not to get on an airplane, I think it will be worth it when she sees the city of lights [hopefully that will take her mind off getting back on the plane for the flight home]. I am looking forward to another vacation with Kahea and Lonnie and our first official "family" vacation -- they are so much fun!

01.10.2001We are liking the idea of a family vacation more and more as we continue to discuss it. I just hope Kahea's father will allow her to miss this part of his summer visitation -- that's easier said than done.
We would like to drive to Las Vegas and visit there during the wedding weekend. Then, on our way back, we'll make stops at the Grand Canyon and other sights along the way back to Texas. It will be a wonderful opportunity for Kahea since she has not been further west than New Mexico.
02.01.2001The itenirary for our trip is still up in the air -- sigh. But, we have made a list of places we'd like to visit.
Camping at the Grand Canyon would be awesome. We've even checked into the half-day mule rides and the sunset tour. That would be breathtaking!
Caesars Palace offers a variety of things to see -- light show, animated tour. And, this might be the spot for our wedding night dining experience.
Kahea has not stopped talking about Circus Circus since I was dumb enough to open my mouth about it!
Watching the volcano erupt at The Mirage is another awesome sight to see.
Lonnie's sister will just love New York New York [although probably not as much as she loves the real NY]. I hope we all get to ride the roller coaster.
Lonnie and I would like to ride on a gondola at The Venetian.
Going to Vegas would not be the same without stopping at the Hoover Dam. I'd like to go on one of the tours this time.
Lake Mead may provide us with some relaxation and some cool water to wash away the sweat!
I have not been to the Petrified Forest since high school and think it would be a neat stop for us.
02.04.2001Lonnie and I discussed our family wedding vacation again this weekend -- instant stress, concern, nervousness for Lonnie. Poor thing. He is trying his darnedest to make this the best, yet most economical, trip for all of us. After all, we still have to have moola to start our lives together after this trip.
We mapped a tentative route --
Saturday Depart Killeen, Texas and after many long hours of trying to get to the border of Texas, we will continue to drive until we get to Phoenix, Arizona.
Sunday Spend the day exploring Sedona, Arizona, then head into Las Vegas, Nevada.
Monday Las Vegas
Tuesday Las Vegas
Wednesday Our wedding day!
Thursday Las Vegas
Friday Depart Las Vegas and head to the Grand Canyon
Saturday Depart the Grand Canyon, driving through Albuquerque and finally arriving in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Sunday While in Santa Fe we'll check out the galleries we missed during our Thanksgiving trip -- Kahea will be happy if we see a Fran Larsen painting!
Monday Depart New Mexico and head home ...
Tuesday Texas-bound ... home sweet home!
