| The Wonder Dogs home is located on 13 acres in Southern Louisiana.on what we now refer to as "Kanyaka Farm" We share our home with 2 Australian Shepherds,1 Border Collie , 5 cats, 40 plus sheep, our resident "Guard" burro and a number of ducks and rabbits. I got involved in the Australian Shepherd breed in 1998 when I just happened to baby sit a small 5 week old aussie for a friend. This little pup captured my heart. I convinced her owner to let me keep her and she went on to become one of the most well know performance aussies in history. Kanyaka the Wonder Dog was this little dog. Yaka passed away in 2005 but her memory still lives on with those who met her during our many years of travel. Yaka introduced me to the world of the versatile dog and that is now what I base my training on. She showed me that one dog can do many things and do them all well. I believe a dog should do what they were bred to do and that is why I pursue Versatility competition with all of my dogs. Wonderdog's foundation dam, "Speak", was only bred twice.
