| All Breed Herding Seminar 3 Full days of working sheep and ducks 2009 Date to be Announced This is an all breed seminar that is limited to 10 working dogs. Dogs and handlers will have lots of working time on stock. Limited classroom discussions will help explain herding terms, trial rules and regulations, as well as tips on reading the stock to help your dog. This seminar is open to all herding or working breeds and prior experience with livestock or herding is not necessary. Unlimited Audit Spots for non working teams. | Herding Instinct Test June 20, 2009 Do you have a Herding Breed ? Do you have a dog that needs a job? All Breeds of Dogs are WELCOME to attend Come out to the contry for the a day with the "Woolies" This test will evaluate your dogs ability and willingness to control and move sheep in a non agressive manner. Each dog will be taken into a pen on leash with a small number of sheep. Each owner is invited to accompany their dog or Shelly will handle the dog alone. The dog will be encouraged to interact with the livestock using its natural instict and ability As the dog starts to develop its working ability the leash may be dropped to allow the dog to move the sheep around the pen in a controlled mannor. No previous obedience is necessary but the ability to sit, down, stay and come when called are helpful. (any dogs showing excessive aggression to people, stock or other dogs will be removed ). Upon completion of the test you will recieve a written evaluation of your dogs performance. Sucessful dogs will also recieve a certificate stating they have passed their Herding Instict Test. Cost is $40.00 per dog Preregistration is recommended as the test is liminted to 40 dogs Time slots for testing are: 8am-10am 10am-12 noon 2pm-4pm 4pm-6pm Registration forms will allow you to select an individual time slot Multiple dogs will be assigned to each slot so all dogs and handlers will have a chance to watch other breeds work.
