The Jagaddhatri idols are commonly made of hay with a layer of clay on it.The entire structure is erected on a couple of bamboos. The outer clay layer is then dried & coloured. The face is generally clay moulded. The idols are clad using various types of dress materials including sari-s . Some idols are dressed in Daker Saaj. After the pujas are over the idols are immeresed in the Jalangi river.During the evening & night the idols are carried in processions to the rajbari & then taken to the river for immersion .
