MICROSOFT STUDENTS – CHAMP

The student – champ is the student’s liaison with Microsoft, and vice versa. Having a single- point of contact between Microsoft and the student body ensures smooth running of the relationship. Additionally, since the contact is a student, he’s able to properly articulate students’ needs. For the appointed student, it is a hands-on opportunity to improve his communication and leadership skills. He receives a personal copy of the Quarterly Technical Newsletter and he can go for the Best Student Champ of the Year award, in a point based contest.

Mr. Sudeepjit Singh has been appointed as Microsoft Student Champ for DAVIET and represent institute to all projects and events of Microsoft.

Microsoft reckons DAVIET as Crowning Glory of North India

Mohit Batra, student of CSE, 2nd year joined by his classmate, Sudeepjit Singh earned kudos for themselves. Software giant Microsoft organized a contest named “Microsoft Campus Challenge” for the nationwide search for the best college level developer team who would represent India in the All Asia Championship in Beijing on February 28, 2003. Microsoft has taken a very admirable initiative in interactive education by introducing this kind of online open challenge.

Team of DAVIET Jalandhar is one of those talented teams who were short–listed by Microsoft at the end of Round-1 and invited to participate in the second round of the challenge at IIT Delhi on 18th January, 2003. Ours was the only team from Northern India to have the honor of competing with the renowned institutes like IIT Bombay, REC Durgapur, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati. The selected teams besides carrying the national banner got the excellent learning experience of doing the project on .Net platform.

It is really a matter of genuine pride and happiness that DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology is progressing by leaps and bounds and is committed to give its students effective industry linkage apart from the academic knowledge that they primarily need to emerge as quality engineers.
