In May of 1967, Elvis marries Priscilla Beaulieu, the girl he met while in Germany. In 1968, after a string of mediocre movie roles, he stars in “The ’68 Comeback Special”. (Which airs in December.) This show is recorded after the birth of his daughter, Lisa Marie, in February of this year. Elvis also performs in Las Vegas for the first time in fourteen years in 1969.
The 1960’s was also a time of transition for Elvis; from movie star to acclaimed concert performer. This decade also saw the birth of such hits as “Suspicious Minds”,“ Kentucky Rain”, “Wearing That Loved on Look”, “Mama Liked The Roses ” and “In The Ghetto”.
