Elvis was inducted into the US Army on March 24, 1958. A a day that was “infamous” according to his teenage fans. From then until March of 1960, Elvis was known as #55310761. Elvis encountered a lot of changes during this time. He was away from home in a foreign land for the first time, and he lost his beloved mother during this time; something that had to be hard for the young Elvis to endure. Still, he did his duty just like any other soldier.
