The Vitae
The Vitae are by far the most bizarre of any of the races. As such they are the ones that require the most explanation. The Vitae have the unusual ability to detect and absorb most types of energy. Since they gain energy directly they only need to eat to grow, heal, or reproduce. Some Vitae however, especially younger ones, eat socially. The Vitae often use this energy transferal ability for communications using various types of energies for different ranges or levels of secrecy. At close ranges, whoever, they almost always communicate with telepathy. They are a race steeped in customs and tradition and their are many divisions amongst their ranks.
