Physically, the Vitae are a very peculiar people. Their only internal organs are a brain, a battery-like organ, and an insanely complex and extensive nervous system which also circulates energy. Vitae are Anthropomorphic in shape but have no faces and very lean bodies which range from deep crimson to a dusty, light red. They have thick hair composed of strands of various metals which is generally worn to the mid-back by warriors and to the shoulder by mystics. The thickness of the strands give it a somewhat dread-like appearance. Vitae also have slightly pointed chins. Their bodies have a very inefficient digestion process in which they must first liquify what the wish to ingest beforehand, usually metals or minerals, and then bathe in the pool of "nutrients" absorbing it through their skin. Each skin cell takes in the metals and minerals and passes any excess on to inner cells. This can be a lengthy process but it enables vitae to heal and regrow lost limbs very quickly. In fact, if you remove a Vitae's head from its body the body will attempt to use this process to grow a new head so you can never really kill a Vitae, just give it amnesia. Of course if the head is left near the body it will either regrow into the body our telepathically send its consciousness to the newly grown brain. Due to the fact that this takes a tremendous amount of energy, if you can get a Vitae to exhaust itself, you can keep it incapacitated indefinitely as long as you keep the body cold.
