There are 10 chocolate - making machines. .Each of them makes chocolate balls of 10 gram each. .Then one day, one of the machines breaks down, after which it makes chocolate balls of only 9.5 gram each. You are given only three chances to weigh the chocolates so as to find out which is the broken machine. Note: you can take any amount of chocolates you like from each machine How are you going to find out which is the spoiled machine?

>>>   You only need to use the scales once.  Take one ball from the first, two from the second, three from the third, four from the fourth, etc.  There should be 55 balls of chocolate total. Normally the chocolate balls would weigh 550 grams total.  By looking at the amount of missing weight you can tell which machine is broken.  For example, if only 0.5 grams is missing then machine one is broken, if 1 gram is missing then machine two is broken, if 1.5 grams is missing then machine three is broken, etc. <<<

There are two doors, one door leads to freedom, this is what you want. The other door leads to prison, and you do not want to get there. Now each door has a guard, a dwarf. These dwarfs are very co-operative, they will answer altogether one question asked by you. So you can ask a total of one question, to any of the two dwarfs, and that is all, then you are supposed to know which door to take. Complicated? Not yet, but wait, there is a big BUT. The one dwarf always lies, and the other one always tells the truth. You do not know which one of them tells the truth and which one does not.  Now it's up to you to find a solution for this riddle. What do you do to solve everything?

>>>   Ask what  the other dwarf would answer if I asked which door leads to prison?  No matter who you ask, both dwarves will point to the door leading to freedom.  <<<
