June 10 - Lost to SEU P5 Titans (Exhibition) 4-2
|
What a great effort tonight against our Premier team. Even though we had one spare in the first half and none in the second half we played an awesome game. We actually scored first and we were playing against a strong wind. Jenna beat her defender after a great pass from Kaitlin and scored with a nice shot. The Titans managed to even the score at one at the half. We put some pressure on them in the second half but the opponent went ahead 2-1. We responded with a great goal from Lauryn who beat there defender to the ball on a direct kick from Nicki and just tipped the ball past their keeper and we were tied again with about 15 minutes to play. Without spares we ran out of gas and they scored 2 late goals to win the game but we won a huge moral victory against the defending provincial champs. Our mids of Shannon, Jessica, Rochelle, Kaitlin and Serena (who could only play the 2nd half) played outstanding. Our defence of Sam, Amy, Nicki, Aly and Breanne (who was injured in the 1st half) held off the speedy Titans and were never outclassed. Our two forwards of Lauryn and Jenna gave the Titan defence trouble all night. Thanks to Louisa for playing on our team and she made some good saves. It was a great effort by all and everyone was named players of the game!

June 7 - Tied with Bonivital Inferno 1-1
|
Another tie! We again started slowly despite having the wind advantage. We did score first on a nice crossing pass from Jenna as Lauryn, who went hard to the net, tapped it in when the keeper bobbled the shot. Ruth and Steph both had good chances to score but both just missed. We played much better in the second half despite playing into the wind. We had several good corner kicks by Nicki which created two more good chances by Amy and Allison G. Our defense played well again and were led by Kaitlin, Breanne and Aly. Serena also made some key saves. Rebecca was named player of the game as she played with intensity the entire game!

June 4 - Tied with Northwest 0-0
|
This was a defensive game all the way with few really good chances from either team. Our defense played very well with Breanne, Kaitlin, Aly, Nicki, Sam and of course our keeper Serena having very strong games. Our mids and forwards all worked hard defensively with Shannon, Steph and Rebecca having good games but we did not have a lot of good opportunities to score tonight. The tie was a good result for both teams. Nicki was named player of the game.
