Match Report (08/04/2001)
SKFC 3 - 0 SABS's asrama team
FIRST-HALF
The match started with a 4-4-2 formation and the two strikers were Captain Quek and Kah Joon. The match started well with accurate passing from both teams. Within a minute, Edward wisely gave a perfect through pass to the new appointed striker - Kah Joon. However, Kah Joon lost his concentration and miskicked the ball. We have to change our formation back to 5-4-1 because we have nnot adapt to this new style of play. As usual, we played pretty well and pressured the home team until our in-form striker 'steal' the ball from the opponent defenders and confidently slaughtered the ball into the far post. The match went on with a few more good opportunity for us to take a huge lead. Its evidence is when captain Quek missed a penalty which was contributed by Pippo Cheng Hong as he was fouled in the penalty area. Edward and Kah Joon continueuly miss the penalty rebound. It was 'heart-ache' but we refuse to give up and continue to attack. This was proven when our "high-flying" Han Ping made a good run to the left field, dribbling pass alll the defenders and 'coolly' pass it to Ven Chian. Captain Quek controlled the ball and 'awesomely' placed the ball into the netleaving the goalkeeper amused. The first-half ended with SKFC leading 2-0.
SECOND-HALF
Our manager Sabesh arrived in the scene. Eventhough he was late, he gave encouragement to the whole team. He encourage us to attack and set some strategies for us. We were attacked for the first 5 minutes and the opponent nearly scored. We recovered fast and continue our offensive routine. We did a lot of chances but couldn't finish them off. It was a great relief when Captain Quek scored again to complete his hattrick and this time he jinxed pass all the defenders and 'coolly' netted the ball into the top corner. It was SKFC's first hattrick since the club was formed. The team gained more confidence and intercepted all the home team's strategy. Tuck Yuan and Choo Uei played important role to keep our defense strong, together with our high body balance player - Jing Siong. In the overall, Kuan Chung made a number of good saves to keep our SKFC first-ever clean sheet match.
THE GAME ENDED
The match ended 3-0 with an aggregrate 7-4. The team played very well especially our defensive and star keeper, Kuan Chung. Our newly appointed player, Chan Tuck Yuan played a good match in his first-ever match with SKFC.
Congratulations to all SKFC player and to the new player, try your best to make SKFC as the best club in the world!!
