| Star Trek is truly a show of the generations. First released on TV way back in 1966, Star Trek has grown into a media empire. After the Original Series went of the air in 1968, there have been six movies depicting the original series, another star trek series, appropriatly named The Next Generation, three movies about the next generation, one spin-off of Next-Gen and two more spin-offs of the original series.
