Welcome to my Star Trek Page. I really like watching Star Trek, so when I got one of my friends interested, I decided to make a web page about it. Alot of people think that Star Trek is a show that is only watched by old gesiers and nerds, but they are very wrong. There are alot more normal people that watch the show than nerds and werdoes. Just think where we would be today if Star Trek never came into bieng. Many people say that the show brought around things like Flip Phones, Floppie Disks and Zip Drives, even the medical readouts in hospitals.This page will hopefully enlighten you about what Star Trek is, and even teach you alittle about it that you didn't know.
Star Trek was first created in the nineteen-sixties under the vision of Gene Rodenberry. Since the original series, Star Trek has been reborn through several spinoffs, which include the Animated series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise. There have also been several motion pictures about the series.
The show is set in earth's near future, although the exact time varies from series to series. Starfleet is the main defensive force to the United Federation of Planets, as well as a scientific and exploration source. The Federation is a government composed of over one hundred and eighty regional planetary governments and thousands of star systems. The many species of humaniods living in Federation space include Humans, Vulcans, Trills, and even the ocasional Klingon.
There are many advisaries of the Federation. The largest threat comes from the Borg. The Borg are an advanced civilation that gains new forms of technology through force. They force intire cultures to become "drones" in their hive mind. The drones are not alowed to have emotions or personal thoughts or memories. They are all connected by a hive mind which controls each of the billions of drones. |
