![]() Title: The Long Awaited Industrial!!! Author: Ashley Complications: None really, just some crusties, but that's normal End Result: It's healing REALLY well Happy with the Result: I love it!! It looks great! Date Done: April 10, 2004 Story: I have wanted an Industrial for a while now. I had done the two holes at 18 gauge earlier and planned to stretch them later. But, of course, I was too impatient, so I asked to borrow my friend's 14 gauge needle and I decided to do it that night. I decided to do the Industrial on my right ear because the "starter" holes I had made on my left ear still weren't healed, so it hurt too bad to but the needle through those. So I decided to do the bottom hole first. I started to push, and it did hurt a bit, but I was so determined to do it that I pushed and pushed and when it finally went through, I was very excited! It did hurt, but since I was using one of those REALLY good hollow needles, it barely throbbed at all. I slid the jewelry in through the needle in one simple motion, and it was sooooooo easy! My second hole, however, was more painful because it was the cartilage one. I decided to do it as fast as I could. I broke the skin with the needle, and it hurt a little, so I just did it slowly. It took me about 15 minutes to get the needle all the way through, and after I let it throb for a minute, I slid the other part of the jewelry through and it was just as easy as the first! I screwed the other ball on, and I loved it right away! It looks pro done, and it isn't even really sore anymore! I personally really recommend DIY piercing as long as you know what you are doing, and I highly recommend those hollow needles! They go in easier and the jewelry insertion is 1000 times easier! With the regular sewing needles, it is almost impossible to slid one out and get the jewelry in without pushing and jamming it into the hole. With a hollow needle, the jewelry fits in the needle, so it is just one smooth, easy, and painless motion. You usually can't even feel the change when putting the jewelry in! If you can't get any hollow needles, then be careful with those other needles! Sometimes they are really a pain!! Good luck to all of you self piercers!!!! ![]() Needle: Hollow needle Gauge: 14 gauge Purchased: E-bay Cost: Free- I borrowed it from a friend Jewelry: 1.5 inch barbell Gauge: 14 gauge Purchased: Hot Topic Cost: 6.99 (It was one of those "build your own" jewelry things.
