[as of date done] End Result: Great Happy with the Result: Looks great:) Date Done: February 1, 2004 Story: Ever since I did my tragus in January, I loved the idea of having my ears pierced in all different places! I have wanted my cartilage done since I was like 10 years old (I'm almost 16 now), and I asked my mom and she said maybe when I graduate in the 8th grade (I went to a private school and wasn't allowed to have piercing like that done. Only one stud per earlobe was allowed!!!). The only thing is, when I graduated, my mom said no because she didn't think my sensitive ears could handle it (her idea of getting any part of your ears pierced was like my 3 lobe holes on each ear: By a piercing gun at the mall) Well, anyways, I pierced my cartilage before in my left ear(about a week before doing my tragus), but when I took the earring out for literally less than a minute, it managed to close itself up almost all the way!! So, tonight I decided to pierce it again, but this time in my right ear. I went into my kitchen and got the same sized needle I used to pierce my tragus (a standard sized sewing needle) and decided where I wanted to pierce it. I then got some ice and numbed it until it was almost all the way melted. Then I took the needle and started to push it into my ear. Honestly, it barely hurt to break the skin and get it almost all the way through. When I finally got to the last layer of skin, it started to get difficult. I pushed it and pushed it, but it just seemed to keep stretching back instead of going through. Well, enough was enough. I held the skin down and gave it a huge push, and I finally felt the needle's point go through. I pushed it in a little more, and then the whole needle was in. I took it out quickly (which was kinda hard to do too, maybe because the needle was in for a while when I was trying to push it in all the way), and then I quickly got a small silver earring (unfortunatly not real silver, but it's made for sensistive ears) and pushed it through. Pushing the earring through was something else that was hard to do, and it was all due to that last part of skin in the back AGAIN! (this was really starting to annoy me!) The earring also wasn't on with a pointy tip, so that made it about 10 times more difficult to push through. But, after 5 mins of pushing really hard, I heard the click and it was through. YAY!! Right now, it's really hot and it hurts when I move it back and forth (mostly when I do it from the back, but doing it from the front hurts a little but not too bad). The only blood was a couple of drops that came out when I first took the needle out, but nothing worth freaking out over! When it comes to piercing yourself, I say if you want it, just do it. Anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Don't be afraid of the pain because in my past experiences, it only hurts worse when you think about it. Another smart thing to do it pierce it as fast as you can, because then (obviously) the minor amount of pain will be over faster!
