Title: My Tragus Piercing
Author: Ashley
Complications: Soreness, but nothing out of the ordinary...
End Result: So far so good
Happy with the Result: LOVE IT!
Date Done: January 13, 2004
Story: I have wanted to get my tragus done since like the 8th grade, when I was 13. I asked my mom, but being one of those "old fashioned " moms, she of course she said no. I have thought about self piercing for a while, and one day, while I was bored, i just decided to go for it.

I went into my mom's room and got a real earirng (since I have VERY sensitive ears), and soaked it in rubbing alcohol. I went into my kitchen drawer and found a larger sewing needle, and cleaned it off in rubbing alcohol also. I marked the spot where I wanted to pirce it, and then I started to put the needle it. It was really hard to break the skin, but after I did, it started to hurt a bit, so I took a minute to relax and forget about the pain. After that I pushed it really hard, and it went in more, but it seemed to be really tough skin to get through, and I kept pushing harder and harder, and it went in little by little.

All together, it took about 45 mins for me to finally push it all the way through, I hadn't even gotten the earring in yet, which is also a pretty hard thing to do (well, for me at least). I pierced a little pit crooked, which made it a little harder to get the earring in, but I didn't care. It took me about 10 mins to get the earring in and I looked in the mirror, and I couldn't be happier with it! Everyone at school the next day noticed it and couldn't believe it when I said I did it myself.

As for my mom, she just noticed it today (January 17), and she's not very happy about it, but she said I could keep it. It's my body, right?

I also totally recommed DIY piercings because if you clean it well and know what you are doing, it could end up looking like you went and had a professional do it!
